The City of Chicago undergoes through this process every year to define the budget for 37 departments and agencies representing 8 spending categories, not including sister agency budgets like the Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, the Chicago Housing Authority, the Chicago Park District, and the Chicago Transit Authority.
