what is the people's budget?
Chicago's got a lot to be proud of, but how we spend our city dollars and whose voices are centered in our investments isn't among them.

We see this reflected in the historic investment patterns of our city, seen most clearly in the opportunities children in our city have, depending on the neighborhood they live in. This isn't just about our history - it's about our future.
We are owed massive investment.
We are owed the People's Budget.
how was the
people's budget built?
Every year the City of Chicago undertakes the process of defining a budget for our City.
The People's Budget is an inclusive, community-led process to define budget values and priorities for the City that centers the needs and priorities of our most impacted communities, creates an accountability framework, and ultimately designs a budget that works for all of us.
